Bone Density

A bone density test uses a small amount of X-ray to measure the amount of mineral in the bones of your lower back, hip and sometimes forearm. This information is used to tell your health care provider if your bone density is normal or if you are at risk for osteoporosis.

CT

Computed tomography, or CT, is a diagnostic medical test that uses X-rays to produce detailed, cross-sectional images of the body. CT images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue and blood vessels provide greater detail than traditional X-rays.

Breast Imaging

Mammography is a low dose x-ray exam of the breast to look for changes in breast tissue. Screening mammograms are performed annually on women who have no symptoms for breast cancer.
A diagnostic mammogram is performed to further diagnose abnormal breast changes. Other technologies can be used to further aid in the diagnosis including ultrasound, MRI, and image guided biopsies.

RAYUS Pain Care

The RAYUS Pain Care team specializes in evaluating pain and underlying conditions to identify which tests and treatments will best resolve your pain. If appropriate, medications may be prescribed on a short-term basis to allow you to tolerate your therapies and ease your current pain.

Interventional and Vascular

Our interventional radiologists are extensively trained in the field of minimally invasive techniques, providing state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for vascular-related conditions.

MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body. It doesn’t use any radiation. An MRI scan can examine almost any part of the body. You will complete a magnetic resonance imaging screening form, change into a gown and remove things that might affect or pose a safety risk to the magnetic imaging.

Nuclear Medicine

Advanced images of organs and tissues are captured with the use of a radioactive “tracer” (radionuclide or radioisotope) to make them visible.

PET/CT

PET/CT exams show changes in your body during the early stages of a disease. It is one of the most powerful tools in cancer diagnosis and staging, and it can also provide important information about neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images within your body without the use of an X-ray. The images show the structure and movement of your body’s internal organs as well as blood flow. Depending on the ultrasound exam that you will be having, you may need to fast or drink water. The sonographer will position you on a cart inside the exam room. He or she will apply gel to the skin around the area being imaged. The gel helps transmit the sound waves. The sonographer will pass a small, handheld instrument back and forth over the exam area.

X-ray

An X-ray is an exam that uses a small amount of radiation to create an image of the structures within the body, including the heart, lungs, blood vessels, and bones. The image created looks like a negative from a black and white photograph. Each organ or structure appears differently based on its thickness.

EKG

Electrocardiogram (EKG) is a fast, painless way to help your doctor detect and diagnose heart conditions.
