An MRI Helps Return This Pastor To His Pulpit

Insight Imaging is improving the MRI experience for patients who suffer from claustrophobia or exceed the size limit of traditional scanners. The new high-field open MRI at Insight Imaging – West Thunderbird is the most advanced open MRI system on the market today, with a magnet strength comparable to traditional high-field units. As an open scanner with 270 degrees of unobstructed views, patients can easily see out of the machine making an exam that has a reputation for being scary much easier. In addition, with MRI patients can complete the imaging needed to guide their care with no exposure to radiation.
“Many people don’t realize they are claustrophobic until they are in a specific situation,” explains Jordan Cohen, M.D., Neuroradiologist and Medical Director with Insight Imaging. “For patients who cannot complete a traditional MRI, the high-field open system is a great option. It lets them get through their MRI more comfortably, often without sedation, and because the unit has a strong magnet, my team is able to capture very clear images for more accurate diagnoses.”
Insight Imaging purchased the Oasis™ MRI by Hitachi, in addition to nearly a dozen imaging coils to further enhance specific anatomy of interest during scanning. There is no additional cost to patients who elect to have their MRI on this new open scanner.
“We’ve been focused on reinvesting in our outpatient centers throughout the Valley,” states Randy Woelfel, Insight Imaging’s Vice President of Operations and Business Development. “In looking at our patient experience, we constantly have to tweak the formula to stay best-in-class. This has included center remodels and investing in new state-of-the-art technology, like the Oasis. Our goal is to deliver the best patient care in the industry and be a strong, collaborative partner to all the providers who entrust their patients to us.”
